The keel for Tonnerre (L 9014) was laid down in August 2003 and launched in July 2005.
Tonnerre was commissioned in August 2007. Tonnerre, a force projection and command ship, is comparable to the U.S. Navy’s dock landing ships which support amphibious operations.
