Brunvoll supplies electric propulsion system to Bakkafrost's first electric workboat

Brunvoll has signed a contract for an electric propulsion system with MEST Shipyard, Faroe Islands, for a fully electric workboat for the shipowner P/F Bakkafrost, Faroe Islands. The vessel is based on the MEST 1508WB design and will be NB115 at MEST Shipyard. Delivery from Brunvoll will take place in Q3 2021.

The Brunvoll delivery is a compact system supply for battery package and electric motors for propulsion with hotel load supply and charge interface to shore connection.

The integrated system design has focus on control philosophy and energy savings.

The Brunvoll system delivery consists of control systems, EMS, DC Switchboards, VFD’s, Electric motors and batteries.
